Why Do We Even Have a Democracy

In Ontario, Canada we have a party leading in the polls that
A) Hires people to pretend to be supporters to cheer them on
B) Refuses to attend any local riding debates
C) Turns down media interview requests to explain their platform
D) Has gone to court to keep their cabinet mandate letters secret and unavailable to the public.
E) Their security beats up nurses in public.
And they’re leading in the polls.
Why do we even bother with democracy?
